Pet peeve. When I mention how much I like a certain movie, and somebody butts in and says “no, you mean the BOOK” and heaven forbid if I haven’t actually read the book, apparently that would make me an incompetent loser. Books are so damn beautiful, I agree wholeheartedly, but movies still have integrity and there is no law against watching a movie without having read the book.
